Target Beauty Box: Define & Shine Perfect For Natural Hair

Target Beauty Box Define and Shine Beauty Box

I was on a weekly trip to Target last week and noticed  a large Target Beauty Box Display near the beauty section so I hastily walked over thinking, “No way! They sell them in store now?!” When I got over there, that was the case! Admittedly, they aren’t the latest Target Beauty Boxes, but the previous month’s instead.

Honestly, I stopped purchasing the boxes (and many other subscription services!)  because often times, I am disappointed. Back in 2013 when I started noticing so many on the market, I subscribed to as many as I could ( I had a lot of free time.) I can confidently say, I’ve tried a ton! In many, there’d be only one item I’d want and the cost of that one item would cost less than the subscription box. Furthermore, I’d be left with products I never intended to use. To learn more about Target Beauty Box read my initial post on their subscription service here.

Able to buy and have the items same-day, I impulsively purchased the last Define and Shine box that was created for curly/coiled hair chicks!

Jane Carter Curls To Go Un-Tangle Me– 2oz.

This is a weightless leave-in conditioner. This is great for women who can actually rock a wash-n-go curly look. Guys, this smelled amazing! It has mango butter and marshmallow root (I didn’t know this was a thing?) in it. I can see myself buying this. Even if this isn’t something that would work for your hair, next time you’re in Target, stop to smell it.

Camille Rose Naturals Almond Jai Twisting Butter– 2 oz.

If you have tightly coiled hair (like mine) this is for you! It’s  formulated for twist-outs, bantu-knots and braid outs! The smell was light, but nice. It smelled like the name, sweet almond.

Camille Rose Naturals Aloe Whipped Butter Gel– 2oz.

This is a light holding “gel” to keep curls in tact. Despite it being “Aloe” this actually smelled like sugar cookies to me.

TGIN Honey Hair Mask– 2oz.

The smell was underwhelming. It’s meant to be used as a deep conditioner.  I only left it in for about 10 minutes while I bathed. My hair didn’t feel any different than any other conditioners I’ve used.

Mielle Organic Detanlging Co-Wash– 1oz.

I’ve used Mielle Organic products through out my hair transitioning phase from relaxers and this was definitely apart of my regimen. If you aren’t familiar with a co-wash it is used in between shampoo days to keep your natural hair oils in tact, but also cleansing it.

Mielle Organix Babassu Oil Mint Deep Conditioner– 1oz.

This deep conditioner may feel light, but offers a deep moisturizing experience! It has a mint scent and you will experience a tingle sensation during the waiting period.

It wouldn’t be a Target Box if it didn’t include coupons! There is a Jane Carter Coupon and a Mielle Organics Coupon. They are both valid until December 31st!

I love the variety of boxes Target occasionally release so I check monthly, but it takes moooonths before I discover a box that I must have. Coincidentally, I ordered the Mother’s Day box and is very excited to receive it.

Are you a fan of Target’s Beauty Boxes?
